BASL at BWGE and General Assembly

BWGE

The BASL-BLIC day on Thursday March 9th at the Belgian Week of Gastroenterology (BWGE) was again a huge success.

We are proud to be the foremost productive scientific society of the BWGE, with 29 high-quality scientific abstracts selected for an oral presentation, among 34 submissions.

Prof Geraldine Dahlqvist and Dr Lena Smets were this years’ best clinical and basic abstract winners with a study on myosteatosis as a possible marker for liver transplant selection and the evaluation of the gut vascular-associated macrophages, respectively. Congratulations to both of them!

The General Assembly was held at the end of this inspiring day. The plans for next year were disclosed including the development of a new website and logo for our scientific society. The new steering committee was installed for the next 2 years with the approval of the BASL members.
