BASL members will have a free access to the Winter Meeting and Liver course, which will take place in Ghent on December 7-8, 2018.

As you probably know, the BASL (Belgian Association for the Study of the Liver), was founded now a little more than 20 years ago as an initiative to stimulate collaboration amongst Belgian physicians interested in Hepatology (internal medicine, surgery, radiology, …..), conduct/support trials and registries in Hepatology and organize postgraduate teaching in Hepatology. In addition, BASL serves as a bridge to the European Society EASL and advises on hepatological matters the national health authorities.
Each year, 2 meetings are organised. During the Belgian Week of Gastroenterology, a ‘Spring Meeting’ is held, during which basic and clinical research is presented. Abstracts are selected anonymously by the BASL Steering Committee.

In December, a clinical ‘Winter Meeting’ is held. During the morning session, selected clinical – mostly controversial – topics are discussed with invited experts and a panel. In addition, selected clinical cases are presented, for which participation is asked from all interested physicians.
Building on these fundaments, we have taken the challenge to secure these same goals and to expand even further on the different responsabilities.
We therefore would like to ask for your (continued) support.
On behalf of the Steering Committee,

Christophe Moreno MD, PhD
President BASL

Anja Geerts MD, PhD
Secretary BASL
